Installing PrestaShop

After you’ve uploaded PrestaShop to your server and created a database, visiting your website should automatically run the PrestaShop Installer.  If it doesn’t, check that your server has PHP 5 installed and activated and that your server meets all the other prerequisites.  Also, check to make sure that index.html doesn’t exist on your server, since that will override the index.php file used by PrestaShop to redirect to the installer.  You can call the installer directly by visiting http://www.yoursite.com/install in your browser.  You will then be presented with the following steps:

Step 1 - Welcome
Step 2 - System Compatibility
Step 3 - System Configuration
Step 4 - Shop Configuration
Step 5 - Installation is Complete!
